Okie Boys was created to inspire people to stop waiting for the “perfect time” and start living today. Through adventure, challenge, and unforgettable experiences, our mission is to encourage others to step outside their comfort zones and make the most of the time they’ve been given.
The vision behind Okie Boys is deeply personal to founder Derek Hallaway. After losing his brother, Zachary, to Progeria—a rare genetic condition that causes rapid aging in children—Derek gained a perspective that would forever shape the way he views life.
Watching someone he loved face a lifetime measured in years instead of decades was a powerful reminder that time is never guaranteed.
In honor of Zachary’s legacy, we proudly support the Progeria Research Foundation and its mission to advance research, raise awareness, and help create a better future for children and families affected by Progeria.
That lesson became the foundation of Okie Boys.
